Disassembling part 3

Today we did take some more parts out of the car.
We first started with clearing everything out of the trunk, including the gastank.
We then dismounted the roof top.
The sound amplifier was next to come out.
The wires that were mounted on the floor and which went to the Nitrous oxide installation and stereo were disconnected.

In this picture you see that the wires are rolled up tagged and put in a plastic to protect the wires and dashboard.
This is the car as it is standing there now. Without the doors. We took them out
 Next we made several measurements.

This is the plan I drew with all the measurements.
With this we will be able to control the movement of the car while welding in the new parts.
This are some brackets made from 6 mm thick plate . These will be used as connector plates for the enforcement frame we are going to installed to prevent movement of the car and frame.

The plates in place for trial fitting. Under the plates we taped 2 layers of masking tape to protect the paintwork.

Disassembling more parts

Today we first continued with the removal of the sound deadener. We also cleaned all glue that stayed behind.
More rust issues were reveiled.

We did ask some advice from an expert and he told us the proceeding jobs to be done.
Here is a picture from behind the door sill on top of the rocker panel.

A picture of the rocker panel behind the seat.

The rear frame at the front suspension mount.

 The seat panel reinforcement.
In order to be able to repair the floor we did dismount the transmission, the exhaust , the drive shaft, the hand brake cable.
Tomorrow we will take some more parts out.
The panels are ordered and we expect delivery at the end of September.
They need to be shipped in from America.
