Today I first made some electrical connections that I did not get done yesterday.
Then I searched for the blots to hold the end caps on the chocks.
The bolt that was used was a slot bolt of a rather suspicious grade of metal. So I decided to make my own.
I took some bolts 3/8" UNC and a few washers of 14 mm. The head of the bolts fit it the 14 mm hole and will be welded to the bolt.
The washer was cut to a square, the bolt was welded and to the washer and a piece of angular rod was welded to the washer to fit in the slot.
Next the bolts are spray painted with some galvanic alu paint to protect it from rusting.
Next the chrome reinforcement to mount under the shock caps was cleaned with some Coke and alu paper to remove the rust. All it needs is some protective coat of clear to prevent it from rusting again.
This blog is about a Ford Mustang recently bought somewhere in America an shipped to Belgium. At first the car looks pretty awesome. Here in Belgium we have a technical inspection where the cars is looked over in and out. To be able to drive the car on our Belgium roads it has to pass this inspection and here is where it went wrong. It did not pass The floors are poorly repaired and need to be redone.

Engine and electrics
So today we continued with the fitting of all the components in the engine bay.
We fitted and connected the radiator and the radiator for the air cooler.
We also fitted the wire loom for the different electric components in the engine bay.
And we also installed a lot of different electrical component.
Next week we will continue.

The Engine
Today I mounted the shock absorbers.
However, in order to complete the front suspension I will have to put the engine back in place. before I can mount the the top brace between the shock towers.
So the first thing I did was to remove the small wheels on which the car was standing.
On both the front and the rear. Those little wheels would probably co-laps under the wait of the engine.
Then I cleaned the engine of any visible debris on it.
The engine bay was covered with bubble plastic to protect the paint and the engine was dropped in place.
Then I installed both headers connected the spark plugs and the oil lines for the power steering.
And then it was time to go home. Tomorrow we will proceed the operation.

Silver
Today I got up early and headed for work.
The first thing I did was to move all the parts into the spray booth.
These are the last parts. I moved them form the garage to the spray booth.
And here You see why i made all these stands.
All the parts are suspended to facilitate access while painting.
Here the fenders are suspende on its frame.
For all the small parts there was a stand available in the spraybooth.
An overlook at everything.
And then the masking begins. All the holes in the interior are covered to minimize overspray.
The hole where the gastank sits is covered with paper as is the trunk.
And here the whole car is fully masked.
For some parts I had to make a stand because there are no holes from which to suspend them on the stand.
The black paint on the doors are cover with masking tape.
And then I had to clean every part with a gray scotch pad.to remove and loosen up all remaining dust. Next all the parts are then washed with a degreaser.
Then the inner wheel wells are sprayed with a gray anti gravel.
Also the inside of the fenders got a coat of anti gravel.
Even the complete underside of the car is covered with anti gravel.
And then we started to paint.
First the base coat was applied. On the parts,
On the car front,
more parts
to back.
And then the varnish was sprayed on the prts
The whole car
The hood and the doors
And the fenders.
Now the sun is gone down and we let the car to cure.
Job well done.
