Building the support

A few weeks ago the first parts did arrive. But the main part the floor pan did not.
We expect delivery in a few weeks.

Today however I started building the support for the car.
Since we are going to cutout the floor-pan we need to support the car from bending. Tubes of 40 x 40 mm are tacked to the brackets I made earlier.
Then plates are added to make it a strong unit.
Tacking was done with a Tig-welder. I did this to minimize the spatter from a Mig-welder, this would hurt the paint and the other components that are still in place.

Then the support is dismounted and welded with a Mig-welder.
While this part is cooling down I started with tack-welding the other side.
Then the supports are mounted back on the car.
